Young man becomes Canberra's first road fatality for 2023 after collision between truck and car in Belconnen

 A man in his early 20s has become the ACT's first road fatality for 2023. 

At 7am, ACT police were called to a serious crash between a concrete pumping truck and a blue Hyundai Getz on William Hovell Drive, 500 metres west of Coppins Crossing.

Officers said the young adult male driver of the Hyundai died at the scene.

The condition of the driver of the concrete pumping truck was assessed before he was taken to Calvary Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
