Lockdown concerns for WA youth detainees

 Juvenile detainees in Western Australia are being locked in their cells for 14 hours a day despite repeated warnings that extended lockdowns could spark riots.

The finding is contained in a report by the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services following its most recent inspection of the Banksia Hill detention centre in Perth's southeast.

Skywhale hot air balloon grounded after developing tear 'in one of her breasts'

Canberra hot air balloon sculpture Skywhale has been grounded and is set to undergo repairs after developing a tear "in one of her breasts" in Ballarat this weekend. The famous balloon and its partner, Skywhalepapa, were both in Ballarat as part of the touring Every Heart Sings project, but were deflated before lift-off due to the damage Skywhale sustained.
