Canberra's disability community say lack of communication has left them waiting months for COVID-19 vaccine

 Canberra mother Jacqui Landos was told in February her 54-year-old son James, who has an intellectual disability, would be among the first in line to get a COVID-19 vaccine which would be delivered under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Three months later James remained unvaccinated despite being in the 1B priority group, and Mrs Landos said she had heard nothing from federal health authorities.

Frustrated by the lack of communication, she took James to be vaccinated at a local GP herself.
